Is a self-hosted password manager safe?
Yes, when it is set up and maintained properly. Your vault is encrypted on your devices before it reaches the server, so the server only stores scrambled data. We keep it updated, backed up and behind HTTPS.
Which apps does my team use?
The official Bitwarden apps and browser extensions, pointed at your private vault. PDF tools open in the browser, and file sync runs as a small app on each computer.
What happens if I stop the plan?
You get a full export of your passwords, files and documents, and we help you move them. Monthly plans have a 3-month minimum, then cancel with 30 days’ notice.
Do these tools cost extra?
No license fees: they are open source. You pay us for setup, the private server, backups, updates and support.
