XL Pay™ · new to crypto

New to crypto? Start here.

You don't need to understand blockchain to get paid with it. You need two apps, one sheet of paper and about 20 minutes. This guide walks you through setting up, getting paid and getting the money into your bank, plus the rules that keep it safe.

The one rule above all: never share your recovery phrase. Xperience Levels will never ask for it, and neither will Phantom, Coinbase or anyone legitimate.

Six words, explained

The only terms you need.

Stablecoin

A coin that is always worth $1, like USDC. $50 stays $50. This is what XL Pay is built around.

Wallet

An app on your phone that holds your coins. You control it, not a bank. Think of it as your own account.

Address

A long code that tells people where to send money, like an account number. It's safe to share.

Recovery phrase

The 12 (or 24) secret words that unlock your wallet. Whoever has them has your money. Never share them.

Network

The road the money travels on, like Solana or Base. Sender and receiver have to use the same one.

Exchange

An app like Coinbase or Kraken where you turn coins into US dollars and send them to your bank.

The apps we recommend

One wallet to get paid. One app to cash out.

Phantom

Your wallet. Where payments land.

Free, simple, and works on Solana, Ethereum, Base and Polygon. It's yours: nobody can freeze it or hold your money.

Get Phantom

Coinbase

Your bridge to the bank.

Sell USDC for dollars one-to-one with no fee, then transfer to your bank for free (usually 1 to 3 business days).

Open a Coinbase account

Kraken (optional)

A second cash-out option.

Also converts USDC to dollars with no fee (up to $100,000 a day) and transfers to your bank for free.

Open a Kraken account

We don't get paid to recommend these apps. Fees and timing are set by those companies and can change; checked October 2026. Take PayPal USD instead? It goes to your PayPal balance (PayPal charges 1.5% when it arrives from an outside wallet).

For business owners · about 20 minutes

Set up in 7 steps.

  1. 1

    Download Phantom

From the App Store or Google Play. Check that the developer is Phantom before you install. Fake copies exist.

  2. 2

    Create a new wallet

Phantom shows you 12 secret words. Write them on paper, in order. Keep the paper somewhere safe at home, and a second copy in another safe place.

  3. 3

    Lock it

Turn on Face ID or a passcode in Phantom.

  4. 4

    Open a Coinbase account

Verify your ID inside the Coinbase app (never by email or DM). Turn on 2-step verification with an authenticator app.

  5. 5

    Save your Coinbase deposit address

In Coinbase: Receive → USDC → Solana. Copy that address and save it in Phantom’s address book as “My Coinbase”. We do this step with you.

  6. 6

    Connect Phantom to XL Pay

You give us your Phantom receiving addresses (they are safe to share). We connect them to your counter screen and pay links.

  7. 7

    Run a $1 test

Pay yourself $1, watch it land, send it to Coinbase, sell it and send it to your bank. Now you know the whole path works.

Rather do it together? Every XL Pay setup includes this, start to finish, with a real test payment. Book a setup call.

Cash out

From your wallet to your bank in 3 steps.

1

Send to Coinbase

In Phantom: tap USDC → Send → choose “My Coinbase”. Check it says Solana. Send a small amount the first time.

2

Sell for dollars

In Coinbase: USDC → Sell → US dollars. One USDC is one dollar, with no fee.

3

Withdraw to your bank

In Coinbase: Transfer → Withdraw → your bank. Standard bank transfers are free and usually take 1 to 3 business days.

Kraken works the same way. More options, like PayPal and selling inside your wallet, are on the XL Pay page.

For customers

Paying a business with XL Pay.

Have a stablecoin

USDC in Coinbase or Phantom, or PayPal USD in PayPal or Venmo. If you hold USDT, swap it to USDC in your wallet first.

Scan the QR code

The counter screen or pay link shows a code for the exact amount. Scan it with your wallet app, check the amount and approve.

You're done

The business sees “Paid” in seconds, and you get an email receipt if you asked for one.

Stay safe

What to do, and what never to do.

Do

  • Write your recovery phrase on paper and keep two copies in safe places
  • Send a small test amount before any big transfer
  • Check the network matches (Solana to Solana) before you send
  • Check the first and last few characters of every address
  • Keep a couple of dollars of SOL in Phantom to pay tiny network fees when you send
  • Turn on Face ID or a passcode, and 2-step verification on Coinbase
  • Keep your XL Pay sales report (CSV) for your accountant

Never

  • Never share your recovery phrase or private key with anyone. Not us, not “support”, not family
  • Never type your recovery phrase into a website, form, email or chat
  • Never photograph it, screenshot it or save it in notes, email or the cloud
  • Never trust a DM or call from “support”. Real support never contacts you first
  • Never connect your wallet or approve anything on a site you don’t know
  • Never click links for free tokens, airdrops or “claim your reward”
  • Never send on a different network than the receiver uses
  • Never send your whole balance at once to a new address

If someone asks for your 12 words, it's a scam. Every time, no exceptions. Stop, don't reply, and call us at (480) 418-8171 if you're unsure.
